Conference Sunday

The kids had a great time with Gramma and Grampa in between sessions of Conference. We woke up to 6-8 inches of snow, then when the sun came out it was perfect to play outside.

A good ol' fashion snow ball fight...

Here's the set up with their blockades and snow ball reserves.

...and the ambush begins... 2 points for Grampa ...but Londyn got him back in the end.
Lucy thought it was too warm for a coat.
and of course Maggie has to have her fun too catching snowballs, as many as Grampa would throw.
Adam and Lucy must be pooped out from too much fun and sun, which explains the nap during the second session of Conference, or was that Londyn?

The snow was heavy and wet, so held Adam's weight no problem

Welcome Spring

First daffodils of the season in our front yard. So cheery and uplifting. Spring is my favorite season of the year.

...while Lucy and Dad fertilize the garden.

Time to decrease the size of our flock. These 2 roosters will be someone elses dinner. These were 2 of the 4 babies from last spring that Londyn mothered. We already have and only need 1 rooster. The poor hens get picked on too much otherwise.

A Dream Come True...

My romantic husband surprised me with an overnight getaway to Las Vegas. When we got in the car Friday morning, and headed south, he asked me if I wanted to listen to a new CD he got. I said sure, still oblivious, until I heard the opening bar of the infamous Phantom of the Opera music (Daaaaaaaaa, da,da,da,da,da). I screamed and couldn't contain my excitement.

The play was AWESOME, (even though it was a tragic love story), the music SO beautiful, PERFECT seats, and the most WONDERFUL husband to share it with.

I was not prepared with walking shoes or a camera, but we did our best seeing some sights (the water show at the Belagio hotel is my favorite). and Ryan's cell phone had to make do for a few pictures. Oh well, the memories will be imbedded in my mind forever. We had a spectacular time together.

Londyn--Our talented teenager

Londyn takes Choir in Jr. High now. This is at her Spring Concert.

her sweet, tender side.... ... and her more assertive side on the court. She still loves basketball, but this year city ball became much more competitive and not as fun as church ball. Her team was the only one from Santaquin to go to tournament, so that was a new experience, but worth the stress of watching?.... I don't know as a mother.

She's still so little with these bigger girls (combined 7th and 8th grades). Londyn is in 7th.

Is that a PIG in my house?

Yes, it is.... Londyn the animal rescuer brought this pig home from school (she is taking an animal science class) to try and nurse and help it live. It was the runt of the litter and not sucking from it's mother, so most likely would die in it's current state. So, knowing that it might still die Londyn brought it home and fed it sweetened condensed milk and made a bed for it down in her room, and set her alarm every few hours to check on and feed again. Unfortunately the poor little thing died in my arms the next day while Londyn was at school.

Lucy likes to call her brother a monkey, thus the inspiration for his cake...

no smile pictures... he wasn't feeling so good...

present time... it would of been better and cheaper to just give him a box at this age.
