The Lord Giveth, and the Lord Taketh Away...

My sweet angel mother came to help with the first week of Isaac's life. She was a God-send. Then with a quick turn of events she was called to be with her father before he departed this life. His fight with cancer came to a peaceful end on March 10, 2010. Today, March 16th is his birthday and he would have been 85.

These next pictures are "pictures of pictures" and my hand is not very steady, so kind of blurry.
Mom is the oldest of 3 children.

Grampa loved to garden and toodle around outside.

His favorite spot over looking Lake Champlain in New York. He provided this "Camp" for our summer escape every year growing up. It was the highlight of the year.

I love you Grampa!! You'll always have a special place in my heart. I hope to carry on your legacy of love, kindness, and generosity.

2 Weeks Old

Isaac is a very active 2 week old child. He loves to run in place, play hide and seek under his mother's shirt, and he can fill up a diaper faster than any kid we know. He's an awfully serious child from the look of these pictures, highly analytical, and often bored by his sibling's antics and attempts to amuse him. He takes pride in the fact that he has more hair than his father and his father is jealous that Isaac gets more time with Courtney. Isaac is addicted to milk, can't get enough of the stuff. It's a sleep inducing narcotic which has proven quite useful over the past two weeks. He's developed a preference for Parent's Choice diapers and knows immediately when the soft, comfy, leak free, smell free, diaper brand has changed and let's us know he opposes all other brands with an immediate blow-out. Parent's Choice it is, kudos to Wal-Mart, the big-box supergiant of Payson. Happy 2 week birthday Isaac!! As long as you're a good baby, we'll celebrate birthday week #3 with milk for everyone!!

1 Week Old

We can't get enough of this little guy! He's lucky that so many people want to hold him all the time. Courtney is feeding every 1-2 hours to flush the jaundice so hopefully his color will soon be less yellow. Lucy and the rest of us could use a little more sunlight if the sun would just shine a little more around here and warm up. My favorite commercial on tv lately is the Dad changing the baby boy's diaper, he takes off the diaper and it's like a firehose hitting the ceiling, walls, and all over the bed. We've already felt like that a couple times. This kid could put out some serious fires! It's like his little joke on whoever dares to change his diaper. He's a little comedian already!!

More pics of the baby, Day 4

Isaac is home and doing well. We had to keep him in the hospital for an extra day because his jaundice level was too high. We got him checked again today and he's doing better, but we have to go back on Thursday for another check-up. So far he's eating well, milk, milk, and more milk. Lucy says to Courtney, "Is Isaac going to eat from your boobie again?". I think her Dad taught her that one! Lucy hasn't been feeling good so she hasn't gotten to hold him yet, but she will in a few days. Then we'll take some more pictures.
