Sunday Drive to the Lavender Fields

Cousins came for a visit

Jolee, Adam, Jenson, Lucy and Londyn having fun and pretending in the backyard. I love to see kids being kids.

FHE -- Provo Temple

For Family Night we took the kids to walk around the Temple grounds in preparation for our family being in charge of the Sacrament Program (the importance of temples). Londyn gave a talk, all 3 kids sang "I love to see the temple", and Adam bore his testimony. Of course, Ryan and I gave talks too. It was a good experience, but we're glad it's over (well, Ryan and I are... the kids are natural performers and love all the attention.)

"I Love to See the Temple"
Lucy didn't want to leave, but it was getting dark, so we distracted her by going to get ice cream at the BYU Creamery. But, the next morning the first thing she said when she woke up was, "It's not dark anymore, we can go to the temple!!!" So cute. We're going to go through the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house in a couple days, so she'll love seeing the inside too.

A Bountious Harvest

We've all had our turn in shucking peas. The garden is turning out pretty good this year with only a few minor upsets. It's all worth the trial and error.

Swim Lessons

The kids take swim lessons from one of their teachers at school who has a pool in her backyard. They both passed their separate classes getting better at all the different strokes and treading water. They have free time at the end of class to use the diving board and slide. Adam always does his notorious belly flop and makes all the mom's cringe. I could never capture it with my camera in time. I would either get the splash at the end or someone walking in front of the camera. Oh well, you'll just have to imagine.

7-Peaks Waterpark

No passes this year, so this is the one and only time to go. Lucy doesn't understand, so keeps asking when we're going to "Peaks" again. She remembers last year going a few times a week. Too much sun for mom and not worth all the headaches.

Ryan and Lucy coming down the slide.

Londyn braving the double drop-off of the yellow slide.

4th of July 2009

After coming home from camping we went to a neighborhood BBQ, but got rained out. The kids just did sparklers and monster pops in the garage because of the rain. They didn't care. Simple thrills.

4th of July -- Camping up Fairview Canyon

This was our 3rd time going camping this summer. I'm ready to take a break till the family reunion.
Our friends camp up here for weeks at a time all summer long, so we went up to visit and ride horses, and 4-wheelers, and fishing...
The horses are right with us at the campsite. It's so peaceful watching them graze.

We rode 4-wheelers for hours on all the hundreds of miles of trails. Lucy loved going as fast and wild as possible.

The kids are not allowed to drive. They are just striking a pose. Lucy and Adam. Londyn and her friend Ashley.

Adam playing Baseball

Salem Pond

Not many "beaches" in Utah, but kids have fun with water anywhere.
