Londyn not afraid to get down and dirty

The kids were excited to get home from school and see their dad's KILL of the day!! Londyn was sad that she couldn't go with him hunting, so instead she got to take it to the meat locker and see all the other deer carcasses. Gross!! She didn't get her strong stomach from her mother that's for sure. She loves being with her dad, thus she learns to like the things he does too.

And you can always find her out in the corral helping her dad do the dirty work too. She loves it as long as we can keep her warm.

Topaz, Midnight, and Blaze. The culprits who create the dirty work. But we love them anyway.

Another Proud Moment for My Man

Ryan built 2 of these shelves for our garage. I love when he gets clever and productive. These were much needed. Now our garage is more organized and manageable to walk through. Thank you!!! Thank you!!!!

THE DEER HUNT

Day #1 of the deer hunt. Nothing sexier than a man in orange...and camo!!

Day #1 hunting partner, Mike Ballantyne a.k.a Legs. The guy can hike!! Only saw three does on day #1. And we were tired after 8 hours of hiking. Mike got his deer on day 7 and I spotted it for him. My new call sign is "Eagle Eyes".

I got my deer on day 3 of the deer hunt. From the road no less. I was so excited I couldn't wipe that smile off my face for at least 12 hours. Should have taken pics before we gutted him. From the road we could tell he was a two point and we were hoping he was a three point and turned out he was. Not a trophy deer, but my first and I'll take it. I hunted with my dad for a couple years as a teenager and we never got one. Didn't get one last year either so you can imagine how excited I was to get this one in an open field at long distance. A major adrenaline rush!! I respect wildlife as much as anyone the only difference is I killed my own meat instead of buying it at Wal-mart.

Now that I got my deer, I had to get it back to the truck. Not to mention I have to brag about this long distance rifle shot that I'm pretty proud of. See the truck in distance?

Here I am pulling my not so trophy deer up hill. Sure would have been easier to shoot uphill and pull the deer downhill. Beggars can't be choosers in this game. Had to stop every 10 feet(ok, 5 feet) to catch my breath at about 7,000 feet altitude.

10 more feet to the truck. I'm about to die pulling this thing uphill to the truck!

My hunting partner Richard Marshall, elk hunting expert and my good luck charm:-) I think he was more excited than I was and I was pretty darn excited.

Beautiful Country!!

What a week!! Loved every second of it!! Can't wait until next year!!

The kids + a friend

Adam and his friend had the idea to rake up the neighbors leaves then bring them to our yard to jump in, because we don't have any big leaf trees. Needless to say, the neighbor was happy to give her leaves away.
